Super Tip Thursday: Pace YO Self While Organizing

Image result for pacing quotes

Pacing is everything! Life is not a race. I believe every movement is good, it doesn’t matter how big or large the movement. I am a big picture, long run type of thinker  and my actions reflect that. I want to create habits and have long term success.

As I am recovering from Bells Palsy and some of the effects have me dibilitated or tired easily. So I am pace myself.

I may work for a few hours in the morning, so I keep a few hours in the afternoon free.

I may work Tuesday, but I take Wednesday off and work Thursday.

Finding your pace requires you to NOT pass judgment on yourself, not to feel pity or sorry for yourself. Finding your pace means being present and honest with yourself about yourself and practicing self care. You can get stuff done!!!! Also you avoid burning out and giving up.

Remember small steps can lead to large rewards!

Thought Of the Day: Could Your Stuff…Kill You?!

Yesterdays blog post by guest blogger Erin Reynolds talks about items and things you do and have in your home that can harm your health. Read here.

I want to add a thought. Could having a lot of “stuff” in your home or space harm you and even kill you?

I say YES!  There are MANY factors that go into this thought and my answer. One of the big ones is too much stuff that depending on how its in your space could fall on you, make you trip and fall, cut you, etc. But I want to go even further. In many cases of cluttered spaces, huge amounts of dust form. Dirt can form too. If there is wet or slightly damp stuff, mold can do major damage. Are there bugs mixed in with stuff? Half dead or dead plants! When they are dead, they can’t omit oxygen to the house.

Sometimes old stuff that isn’t kept up can smell. Your respiratory system can become compremised. Headaches can form.  There are so many benefits to having a clean and not cluttered space.

Something for you to think about especially if you aren’t feeling well and not sure why…

Super Organizer Monday: A New Era

935373_1059872990720767_9191733154710306690_nHello everyone! How Are you today? I am doing okay these days. I took two months off to soul search and re-evaluate my life and situations. It was the best thing I could do for myself. Self Care is very important!! I left my home of LA to do the thinking! Another great decision I made. Sometimes is good to extricate yourself from your surroundings and go somewhere! I went all over the country and parts of Canada! I enjoyed it so much, I might do it again later on in the year!

I found myself. I was able to let go of things. I was able to come up with tighter ideas. I’m much calmer now. I have made some changes since I’ve been back, One of them is the major purge at my house. I’ve gotten rid of half of a small room size of stuff!!!! I’ve let certain toxic friendships go. And I made the decision to leave Adrenaline radio where I just celebrated 2 years there. They gave me a chance and a start. Other opportunities came up and I had to make a decision. My show The Super Organizer Show will continue, probably as a podcast for now. I will produce that myself. I want to thank them for everything!

Change can be good. You can survive change. Self care is the best care!

Stand Up For Yourself

Image result for self care quotes

It is VERY important to stand up for yourself. It is very IMPORTANT in every situation!

So what am I talking about exactly?!

Self care is number one always! Or at least is should be. If you aren’t taking care of yourself, then you are doing yourself a disservice.

Your feelings and wants and desires are valid. And if you are working towards them, you should continue on that path. You can stand up for yourself and do it in a way that is matter of fact and non confrontation. You have to be firm in your commitment to yourself. Don’t let anyone derail you from your plans to a good life.

There is no reason to be mean or rude  You should communicate rationally and as I said before matter of factly. It’s your life. IF you want an organized office or a clean house, then you should have it. Its harder when there are other people involved. That is the test! You have to be firm and kind at the same time. Not everyone is on the same page as you. You have to understand everyone in in their own place. I always say take care of you and the people who should be in your life will stay. You have to continue to evolve and change and when you really think about it, that is all dependent on YOU!

You should talk to those whose this affects. And give them the opportunity for change too. AND remember they may have their own process and learning curve. Then you compromise a little to find common ground. YOU want to find ways to work together so that your growth continues. I really want you to think of YOU first and practice safe care everyday!

Organization=Self Care

Image result for self care quotes

Self care is important! That statement isn’t the most profound yet many of us forget it. We are so busy doing for others and trying to succeed at our jobs and taking care of the kids or aging parents that REALLY taking care of ourselves gets lost in the shuffle of life. THAT IS NOT GOOD!

Everything begins with yourself and how you perform, how you interact, how you survive depends on YOU! Taking care of yourself is essential to being the most effective and helpful to the outside world. Re-read that statement several times!!

I equate being organized with self care. The way to live physically can really affect your mental and physical health. Not having systems in place can make you work harder not smarter. It can wear you down. So I am urging all of you to take care of yourselves and in relation to getting organized or decluttered, think of that as self care too!!
