Music I Like To Organize To- Lily Allen, “Hard Out Here”

Lily Rose Beatrice Cooper (née Allen; born 2 May 1985), known professionally as Lily Allen, is an English singer, songwriter, musician, actress and television presenter. My fellow Taurean has been releasing music since 2006! Her latest song is my pick for music i like to organize to. “Hard Out Here” is funny and takes a piss on the entertainment business. The title and chorus are a take on the Oscar Winning Song by Three Six Mafia, “It’s Hard Out Here For a Pimp”. I can’t stop playing the song or video. Click this to go to video.

I’ve been a fan of Lily Allen’s work since “The Fear” and “F*ck You”! She has such a biting wit and accurate take on life and its everyday issues. She is a great commentator on pop culture AND the music is really good. I love a message in a song especially if it’s wrapped in a great pop song! Her album Sheezus is full of great songs but “Hard Out Here” is my favorite and on heavy rotation.

Music I Like To Organize To- Anything by 2Cellos

I was in a store (I cant remember which one) and I heard this song that sounds like an instrumental of Michael Jackson’s Smooth Criminal. Yet it didn’t sound like a conventional version. It was just as pumped up as the original. And it sounded like strings! Yes Strings!?! So I “shazam” it! I was right! It was strings! Cellos! Cellos??? The title that popped up on the Shazam app was “Smooth Criminal” by 2Cellos. So when I got home, I went onto YouTube and watched the video (click here to view). I was blown away. Then I started watching some of their other videos. I was hooked. Especially since I played Cello in Junior High school.

2Cellos is  is a Croatian cello duo, consisting of Luka Šulić and Stjepan Hauser. Although the two record covers of mainly rock songs, Šulić and Hauser still play with orchestras playing classical music. Other songs include covers of AC/DC’s “Highway to Hell” featuring Vai, Coldplay’s “Clocks” featuring Lang Lang, Muse’s “Supermassive Black Hole” featuring Rivera, an Italian version of “The Book of Love” by The Magnetic Fields entitled “Il Libro Dell’Amore” featuring Zucchero, Karl Jenkins’ “Benedictus”, and “Oh Well” featuring Sir Elton. I have gone on iTunes and bought a lot of their stuff.

They are talented and fun! I invite you to take a listen. Here is a link to their website,

Music I Like To Organize To- “Stop!” by Stacy Clark

Stacy Clark has been around awhile. You haven’t heard of her? You are missing out. She has been putting out great pop music for years! She has released a new album Symmetry. Symmetry is a mix of older songs and new songs. If you haven’t heard her music, then this is a good place to start. Of the new songs I’m obsessed with (click on highlighted word to listen and buy) one of her pop/dance tracks “Stop!” This song is super catchy! This song deserves to be played on the radio alongside Katy Perry and Pink and Lady Gaga.

Music I Like To Organize To: “Beyonce” by Beyonce

This was a surprise to me! I like Beyonce and have all of her solo albums. When I got this album, I liked it and played it a few times then put it away. Then a couple of weeks ago I put it on while organizing a clients place and it really kept me going during that session. The mid tempo and fast songs work in the background and the slow songs are nice. She once again makes some interesting music choices and samples (included on “Flawless” is her pre-Destiny Child’s Star Search appearance as Girls Tyme).  And she did videos for each of the songs! Other albums of hers were obvious choices as good music to organize to (B Day, Dangerously In Love) but this one creeped up on me! Now its on heavy rotation!

Music I Like To Organize To- I Blame Coco “The Constant”

Coco’s father is famous. I’ve had the pleasure of seeing her father reunite (after a successful solo career) with his former successful band, The Police, live and it was incredible! Her older half brother opened for his dad’s band and was really good also. that band is called Fiction Plane.  Sting (nee. Gordon Sumner)  and Joseph Sumner sold me on them, so it was no surprise that another Sumner would come out of the box with a fantastic debut. Coco, whose birth name is Eliot Paulina Sumner, released an album in 2010, The Constant, under the moniker I Blame Coco. I STILL play the album on a regular basis!!

The Constant is the debut studio album by English band I Blame Coco, released on 1 October 2010 by Island Records. The album spawned four singles: “Caesar” (which features Swedish singer Robyn), “Selfmachine“, “Quicker” and “In Spirit Golden”; the latter was released digitally on 31 October 2010, one week before the album’s UK release date. Its pop. Its dance. Its rock. I love all the songs. One of the few albums where I don’t feel the urge to skip a track! On their twitter page , it says they are working on new music. Until then, this is one album I like to organize to.

Music I Like To Organize To- Pharrell Williams “Happy”

I LOVE the Pharrell Williams Number One hit “Happy”.  Its upbeat, poppy and positive! Great lyrics and celebratory! We NEED more songs like this! And I’ve added it to my playlist of music I like to organize to!

The  Oscar nominated song was originally in the animated film Despicable Me 2 and is now on his album Girl  It just makes me want to get up and move and if i’m cleaning or organizing, then it makes the moment more fun.
