Keurig- A Helpful Alternative To Regular Coffee Makers

k-cup30-SpecialEditionBrewingSystem

I used to have regular coffee makers. I had a Krupps. I had a Mr Coffee. I had a no name brand. They were all great and took care of business. Coffee was brewed. The problem for me though is sometimes I make TOO much coffee. I tried to think of how many cups I would drink and make that amount. But it didn’t always work and I would end up wasting coffee and throwing it out. Once I got the Keurig, all of that stopped.

What I love about the Keurig is that you make one cup at a time. AND you can select what SIZE cup you are making! So just enough water is being used. And like those of us who live in California, we need to watch every drop of water we use during this drought. Another feature that I like is most Keurigs come with a “My K-Cup” (Or you can purchase one.).

WIth the My K-Cup you can add whatever coffee grounds from your favorite coffee brands. And its measured as you only put in a certain amount. It’s also great if you don’t want to use the pre packaged plastic k-cups of coffee that are available. Again there is no wasting or polluting the world. (I take the coffee grounds and put them in my plants or trees.)

Write It Down

LogoColorTextBelow.111203434_std

Commitment! Its a strong word! To commit to something. You make a decision about something and you want to stick to it!

Organizing involves commitment. It involves YOUR commitment to making your life easier but FIRST you have to commit yourself to working on making your life easier. Without commitment, nothing happens. I briefly talk about this in my spinoff blog at thesuperorganizeruniversetips.blogspot.com that sometimes WRITING things down can help. I’m a visual person and write things down all the time. It helps me in my organization personally and professionally.

You can do it in a variety of ways. You can write down an actual goal on a post it or piece of paper and tape it up somewhere. Somewhere you will SEE it everyday (i.e. next to the bathroom mirror, next to the front door, on the back door, etc.)! An actual calendar hanging up on the wall or on your desk top can work. You can write the goal in one of the boxes for the dates. Another suggestion is writing KEY WORDS that remind of the goal and write them down in pieces of paper and place them in random places that AGAIN you’ll see them. Like in a purse or jacket pocket. Near your Keurig when you make your morning coffee. Seeing and being reminded can sometimes keep you focused and the momentum going. And I know that sometimes I need all the help I can get!

I Can Blink Again!!!!

20140108_153913

As I’ve stated before in my Good To The Last Drop…Keurig blog, I LOVE Coffee!! But I do know that too much coffee has negative effects on me.I used to drink at least 2 cups in the morning and one in the afternoon. I would find myself jittery and when it was time to go to bed I was wide awake. After years of this, I decided to cut down.

I HAVE to have my one cup of coffee in the morning! Over time I have managed to get myself to the point where I can have another cup of coffee in the afternoon but i would water it down.Or I would have a SMALL cup of coffee. Well not anymore!!! I was shopping and ran across from Green Mountain Coffee brand, Haff Caff!! TOTALLY changed everything for me! Its less potent and still provides the right amount of coffee stimulation I need to continue my day. It’s for the Keurig and I bought 3 boxes of it. You can find it at Bed Bath and Beyond and Target, but you can probably find it anymore Keurig K-Cups Coffee are sold.

Good To The Last Drop..The Keurig

keurig_platinum

Let me begin by stating that I LOVE COFFEE!!!!!!!!! I love the taste. I love the smell. I love the effects. Well I like the effects that coffee has on me when i need it. Over the years I’ve had many coffee makers from brands like Mr Coffee and Krups. and different sizes from the 2-4 cup to the 6-8 cup. No disrespect to any of them. They were all fine and did their job to satisfy my coffee needs. But 4 years i was introduced to a new kind of coffee maker that changed my life FOREVER!!!! The Keurig

One day i walk in the home of my mother and go to make coffee in the kitchen when i happen upon this strange-looking device on the table. “Um..what is this and how am i supposed to make coffee out of it?” I ask my mother. ” Its The Keurig“, she says proudly with a smile on her face. She goes on to explain that she was watching QVC or HSN (don’t remember) and watched them explain the features and she was sold. The Keurig is a single cup coffee maker. Okay that sounds great i thought but where do you put the coffee? She showed me a box full of little cup looking things. Each one has a different label with what kind of coffee was in it. At that time you could only use what they call K-Cups full of dried coffee grounds inside (they have since created an empty reusable cup you can fill with any kind of coffee grounds you want.). I picked the one labelled Donut Shop. There is a compartment where the water is stored. There is a place to put the cup underneath (you can do 3 different sizes of cups.) I put in the K-Cup and press the button. And just like that a star is born!!

The Keurig is great. You don’t waste water. It uses just enough. Its simple to use. Now companies like Starbucks and Dunkin Dounts are now offering their coffee in K-Cups. And It actually helped me cut down my coffee intake because im not making 2-4 cups of coffee at a time and feeling like I should drink that much. One cup made each time. Yes of course there are newer imitators of the Keurig but I prefer the original and I’ll drink to that!
