Super Tip Tuesday: A Child Size Hanger IS Hard To Find

331762143656

I used to throw away or ask the cashier to keep the hangers that came with kids clothes. Not anymore. I have found that it’s not easy to find child size hangers out there. So I say that you should keep the smaller hangers for the kid clothes. Usually for their dressier stuff such as school uniforms or suits or church clothes.

There are some places online that sell child size hangers:

Super Tip Thursday: In It’s Entirety.

4358906-499098-scissors-cut-lines

en·tire·ty  (n-tr-t, -trt)

n. pl. en·tire·ties

1. The state of being entire or complete; wholeness.
2. The entire amount or extent; the whole.
Take a look at your “stuff”. Go ahead and take a look at your clothes and accessories. Do you see those magazines and documents on your desk? Then ask yourself, “Do I need the entire thing?” I have a tip to help clear things out of your home or office.
For example, you have a catalog (yes they still exist) and you only want to order ONE thing out of it. Most catalogs nowadays print the website address or phone number to call to order on every page. How about tearing out the ONE page and tossing the rest. Okay, you have an outfit in the closet and you only wear the pants.Maybe its time to get rid of the top and the jacket. You really enjoyed that health tip in that magazine. You can tear that out OR go online and save the page on your computer or laptop. Basically its keep what you USE and NEED, and let GO of the rest.
If you start to do this regularly, then a pattern will form and little by little you’ll have more space.

Super Tip Tuesday: Hello Old Friend.

Flickr-111286017

Todays tip come from a rule that i like to follow in my personal life AND professional life as an organizer: The One Year Rule.

The One Year Rule is when you look at something,a piece of paper, shoes, clothes, toys, and ask yourself if you’ve used it in the last year! If the answer is NO, then it’s probably time to let it go.  If the One Year Rule is not comfortable for you, then try the Two Year Rule or Five Year rule. You get the picture. I’ll even expand, just a bit, in reference to clothes and I use another rule that i find works with the One Year Rule: The Does It Still Fit/ Is It In Decent Condition Still Rule! Even I had to recently pull out the 15 Year Rule and FINALLY look at that shirt (that was now too small, ahem) with the holes in it and stains of questionable origin and through it out! At first it was painful, but now I’m okay and have moved on. Family’s with small and school age children can find themselves with LOTS of toys laying around or the toy box overflowing with things they don’t even acknowledge exist. In the past when the kids were little we would take the toys that the kids moved on from and passed them on to the younger kids.

Try it and see how much more room you’ll have in your space. And if the item is in still relatively good condition, you can donate it or pass it on to a friend who WILL use it!

NO Wire Hangers….EVER!!!!

joy-mangano-huggable-hangers-49pc-set-with-totes-chr-d-20130624121552217~262028

Wood hangers are nice to look at but they tend to take up too much space in the closet (in my opinion). The plastic hangers are light but don’t look as nice.  Wire hangers are not even up for consideration. Yes they come with your dry cleaning, but you shouldn’t leave clothes in dry cleaning bags for too long for they can trap moisture. ( Another tip is to bring back all the wire hangers to the dry cleaners. It’s good to recycle.) In my practice personally AND professionally are the “huggable” hangers. And one of the brands I use and recommend are by Joy Mangano. I found her on HSN (Home Shopping Network) and Target.

Joy Mangano Huggable Hangers are light yet sturdy and the best part is that they are covered in velvet, so your clothes never fall off. Also they are thin and stylish, and they come in different colors, so they can brighten up your closet space. I highly recommend them. You can go to target.com or hsn.com for more details and to buy them.
