Books I Like to Read- “168 Hours: You Have More Time Than You Think” by Laura Vanderkam

I feel that proper and sometimes creative time management is important in life. How else can you spend time with the kids AND go to work AND have a date night AND finish that building project in your backyard. There are many techniques and suggestions out there. I came across a book that I really enjoyed and learned a lot from called 168 Hours: You Have More Time Than You Think by Laura Vanderken.

168 hours is the number of hours in seven days (One week) .  The premise is that we misapply a lot of the time during that week, either through excuses or misplaced priorities. Because of that, we find ourselves not having time for the stuff that’s genuinely important to us. She interviews dozens of successful, happy people, and shows you her realization that they allocate their time differently than many of us. Instead of letting the daily crap crowd out the important stuff, they start by making sure there’s time for the important stuff.  Vanderkam shows that with a little examination and prioritizing, you’ll find it is possible to sleep eight hours a night, exercise five days a week, visiting Granny, and write that novel without giving up quality time for work, self, and other things that really matter. I really enjoyed the book!!!
