Our gas and electrics bills are higher during the winter months and if you’re like me, then you’re trying to find ways to cut some of those bills down. Today’s tip is one of those ways.
The Dryer! Most loads of regular clothes (cotton, denim, towels) will dry within 40 minutes on a medium to high setting (delicate clothes take much less time).I would ignore the automatic setting altogether and use the timed dry. At 30 minutes or so, I would check the laundry. Pull out shrinkable items and let them air dry the rest of the way. Also some of your clothes might be dry at that point too. Pull those out and finish the rest. The lighter the load the more heat will directly hit them. Also the general rule of thumb is the lighter the fabric, the lower the temperature.
P.S. There are inexpensive drying racks like the one above that work for inside the house to finish drying clothes.
